The price of chasing a dream
I've always had this feeling that I’m meant for something greater. It’s not just a whisper, it’s a constant, unshakable nagging, pulling at me to create, to move, to do. It feels intense, almost like a calling I can’t ignore.
It started with weddings and events. Then came my love for property. And now, I’ve immersed myself in marketing and branding. I can see my potential to exceed even my wildest plans in all these spaces. I am, without question, a dreamer. But more importantly, I am a doer.
The only catch? I must keep going. Keep believing, building, and pushing forward. But here’s the truth no one tells you—chasing your dreams comes at a cost.
What’s the price I’m paying?
It’s the weight of depression when I feel like I’m not where I want to be yet. Sometimes, success feels so far away, and the gap between “here” and “there” feels overwhelming.
It’s the loneliness of carving out my tribe. Not everyone will get it. The late nights, the constant striving, the inability to simply be without thinking about what’s next. Finding people who resonate with this journey takes time.
It’s the trade-off of always investing in myself over immediate gratification. Those dream vacations, new car, and five-star hotel stays—things I truly enjoy—take a backseat. They are reminders that the seeds I’m planting today will bear fruit tomorrow.
Yes, I’m well aware that some of these are what people might call "first-world problems." But the reality is, that the cost of chasing a dream is not just financial, it’s emotional, mental, and deeply personal.
Some days, it feels so costly. Like the weight of it all is just too much. But even in those moments, I remind myself that the dream is bigger than the price. The sacrifice will pay off. The life I’m building will be worth it.
So, to anyone out there chasing something big, You’re not alone in feeling the heaviness of the price. Remember, the currency you’re paying—your time, your energy, your tears—is an investment in a future you’re going to be proud of. Keep chasing. Keep believing. You’re closer than you think.
